A few years ago I got the idea that we needed to have a formal banquet honoring the graduating seniors at our church. Each year the speakers are the pastor and the Sunday school teacher of the graduates. Our teens classes are split by gender...so if all the seniors are guys then it is the Teen Guys teacher....if we have gals and guys graduating then we have both teachers and the pastor. Every year we come up with a theme and deocorate around it. This year we decided to build "chuppahs" over the tables. This was done with hooks holding gossemer over the tables. If you need directions for this email me and I will do my best to describe it to you :)
Area where the speakers spoke.
Wall of Honor :) I made "polaroids" in photoshop of the seniors and printed them on 16x20 formats. We attached a sharpie marker for their friends to sign on the polariods.
Looking through this table setting your can see the "photo back drop" we took a 10x20 white backdrop and stapled it to the wall next we stapled strips of black gossemer over it and gathered it in the middle for a jaquard pattern. The weights holding the ballons were cans of coke in black tissue wrapping.
This amazing cake was made by a lady in the church wrapped with ribbon and adorned with fresh roses.
The grape tree--about 30"tall was made by the pastors wife. No I dont think anyone counted the grapes :(
The table setting was inspired by Martha Stewarts wedding site. The punch was a kool aid punch...secret recipe of the pastors wife...if I ever get it I will share it with you! It is indeed the best ever!!
